A Fast, Intense Labor After a Days-Long Induction | Mabel Rose's Birth Story by Meredith Westin

November 8th, 2018 | 4:00 pm

Not only was I there for the birth of this sweet family’s daughter, I also got to come back the next day for a Fresh 48 session in the hospital and again at their home the week after their sweet baby was born.

Welcome to the world, sweet girl! We’re so glad you’re here!

A Fresh 48 Session in Minneapolis by Meredith Westin

Baby Rosie was born on August 24th, 2018 and I got to see her and her fantastic parents again two days later in their room on the NICU ward for a Fresh 48 session. I made sure to capture her sweet toes, the amazing lanugo that still covered most of her body, and the way her parents worked together with a supplemental nursing system (SNS) to feed her. If you're interested in documenting a bit of baby's first or second day of life, reach out!

A Breech Belly Birth in Minneapolis | Rosie's Birth Story by Meredith Westin

August 24th, 2018 | 9:19 am

My lovely clients had their baby via cesarean section on a rainy Thursday morning. A combination of factors led to the decision to go in and get baby and one of my favorite things about the day was seeing mama's face light up when she was told that her baby was out bum-first and again when she heard that first sweet cry. Due to the surgical nature of this birth, some of these images are a bit bloody and I considered adding a warning to the top of this post but I ultimately decided not to. Birth can be bloody. Life, especially the life of a woman, is occasionally bloody. I see beauty in these images and I hope you do too.

Welcome to the world, sweet girl! We're so glad you're here!

A Homebirth Turned Hospital Birth in the Twin Cities | The Birth Story of Ella by Meredith Westin

Ella Grace | March 29th, 2018 | 8:51 pm

When Becky and Dave hired me to be their photographer for the birth of their second daughter, they knew this labor experience would be unique but they didn't know just how unique and how different from their first labor it would be. From a 24 hour labor to a hospital birth and then a stay in the hospital, things were pretty much the opposite of their first birth experience. Despite that, it was all incredibly beautiful.

Welcome to the world, Ella! We're so glad you're here!
