Hi! I’m Meredith. I am a full-time professional birth and postpartum photographer living in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

I’m a stargazer and a cloudgazer, a wanderer and a traveler. I’m always looking for the light. When I’m not walking in the woods with my dog or riding my bike around town, I’m browsing design blogs, fantasizing about my next trip, or curled up with a good book. And, let’s be honest, I spend a bit of time on the couch with Netflix and Hulu.

I am passionate about access, justice, and representation for those on the periphery and I strive to ensure that my services remain affordable to people in all income brackets. I believe that art is a right as well as a privilege and I think that everyone should have access to the joy it brings into our lives.

I am DONA and CAPPA trained, and I have experience both as a birth doula and a postpartum doula. I am a member of the Birth Becomes Her team, an award-winning birth photographer, and I have Spinning Babies and HypnoBirthing training which I bring with me to each birth I attend. Locally, I’m a member of The Childbirth Collective, and I’m on the board of the MN Birth Photographers group.

Along with capturing birth stories, I am also honored to work as an adoption photographer in Minneapolis and St. Paul, preserve beautiful postpartum moments throughout the metro area, and photograph folks as they go through cancer treatment (radiation, chemotherapy, mastectomy, and reconstruction photography).

In the birth world, we talk a lot about “holding space”. What does holding space mean to you? Has anyone ever done it for you? When do you hold space for others?

Did you memorize the finite details of your newborn when they arrived? Did you soak them in? Were you in awe of your partner?

Sometimes the golden hour looks like:
a baby nestled against your chest right where he belongs, wide awake and full of wonder
eyes closed with exhaustion
a heart that brims with relief, joy, and gratitude, and oh so much more.

What was your favorite detail of your tiny newborn?

Birth can bring a lot of big emotions. How did you feel when your baby was born? Did you laugh, did you cry? Were you shocked?

In one moment, she was hoping her baby was close, and in the next, her baby’s head was out! ❤️
